Tsarin yana aiki ta hanyar electrolysis na ruwan teku, wani tsari inda wutar lantarki ke raba ruwa da gishiri (NaCl) zuwa mahadi masu amsawa:
- Anode (Oxidation):Chloride ions (Cl⁻) oxidize su samar da iskar chlorine (Cl₂) ko hypochlorite ions (OCl⁻).
Martani:2Cl⁻ → Cl₂ + 2e⁻ - Cathode (Raguwa):Ruwa yana raguwa zuwa iskar hydrogen (H₂) da ions hydroxide (OH⁻).
Martani:2H₂O + 2e⁻ → H₂ + 2OH⁻ - Gabaɗaya Martani: 2NaCl + 2H₂O → 2NaOH + H₂ + Cl₂koNaCl + H₂O → NaOCl + H₂(idan ana sarrafa pH).
Ana hada sinadarin chlorine ko hypochlorite a cikiruwan tekuto kashe halittun teku.
Mabuɗin Abubuwan Maɓalli
- Kwayoyin Electrolytic:Ya ƙunshi anodes (sau da yawa ana yin su da tsayayyen anodes, misali, DSA) da cathodes don sauƙaƙe electrolysis.
- Tushen wutan lantarki:Yana ba da wutar lantarki don amsawa.

- Maganin Ruwan Ballast:Jiragen ruwa suna amfani da shi don kashe nau'in ɓarna a cikin ruwan ballast, suna bin ka'idodin IMO.
- Ruwan Ruwan Ruwa:Yana lalata ruwa a cikin gonakin kifi don sarrafa cututtuka da ƙwayoyin cuta.
- Tsare-tsaren Ruwa na sanyaya:Yana hana lalata ƙwayoyin cuta a cikin masana'antar wutar lantarki ko masana'antar bakin teku.
- Tsire-tsire masu narkewa:Pre-maganin ruwan teku don rage samuwar biofilm akan membranes.
- Ruwan Nishaɗi:Yana tsabtace wuraren wanka ko wuraren shakatawa na ruwa kusa da yankunan bakin teku.
